James Carl Ellis James (Jim/Jimbo/Jimmy) Carl Ells, born on February 27th, 1957, 68, of Endicott, New York, passed away on Thursday January 15th, 2026 at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier peacefully in his sleep. James lived a life marked by kindness and quiet strength. Known for his love of simple joys and the way he made those around him feel welcome. He is survived by his two children, daughter Kate-Lynn M Ellis (Thomas Walker) and son Kristopher J Ellis. He is preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Ann Ellis, and dear life long companion Jill Shawley. James found happiness in the things he loved most. He loved his two children, he also loved watching his favorite movie series Harry Potter, his classic western T.V. shows and movies. He also loved to play darts and cheering on his New York teams, the New York Giants and The New York Yankees. These moments which were often shared with his family and friends were some of his favorite ways to unwind and connect with others. A celebration of life will be held in memory for him on February 1st 2026 at 2:00 pm, at Snidelys in Endicott New York. As he loved to visit his favorite bartenders, grab a good bite to eat, and hangout with his friends. His thoughtfulness and kind and gentle soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He created memories with many people in his journey through life. He will forever be cherished, and remembered by those whose crossed his path. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and in the simple joys he shared so freely. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful nurses and caring staff that provided their time and effort at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, for their endless efforts to help him pass peacefully.
