Dr. David F. Parsons Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. David F. Parsons, 82, of Apalachin, New York. God called him to his eternal home in heaven on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Born to the late Nola Parsons, Dave was a proud graduate of Philadelphia College of the Bible, and Maranatha Baptist University, where he received both his Masters and Doctor of Ministry. For over 45 years, Dave faithfully served God and congregations across Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York. He loved preaching and teaching the Word of God and was also known throughout the community as a skilled and caring counselor. Up until the last few years, Dave enjoyed landscaping and caring for his home, going for long walks, playing with his dog…and through it all, music was a constant companion.
He is survived by Pat, his best friend and loving wife of 59 years. Along with Pat, Dave leaves behind his children, Tom (Val) and Jay (Cerigwyn), and his grandchildren, Tommy and Sophie. In addition to his mother, Dave was predeceased by his brother, Alex "Tiny" Parsons and his sister in-law, Sue Parsons.
Pat would like to thank all of the individuals who make up the staff team at Riverview Nursing Home in Owego, New York. They cared for Dave with compassion and respect (and a little bit of humor) during the last five months he was a resident there. Their care for him and support of Pat was a gift.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 29 at 11:00 am at CalTab Church in Vestal, NY. The family will be available from 10:00 - 11:00 am to receive those wishing to express condolences.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to CalTab Church, 729 Main Street, Vestal, New York, 13850.
