David T. Hettig Obituary

David T. Hettig, 86, of Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 24, 2026 after battling Pulmonary Fibrosis.


He was predeceased by parents, August & Mildred Hettig.


He is survived by his loving partner, Lorna Everitt, his son, Mike Hettig and brother Tom (Jill) Hettig.


David graduated from Johnson City High School in 1956 and then from Cortland State Teachers college. He taught school for a few years and then decided to switch careers to become a Sales Rep for TRW-FUITSO.


After retirement he drove school bus for Johnson City School District. David served 3 years in the US Army stationed 1 year in Greenland. He loved sports of all kinds, mainly following Baseball, Football, and Hockey. His favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and the Yankees. David also enjoyed Golf.


David was liked by everyone. He loved going to West Palm Beach, Florida, where he had many friends. He attended the Silver Lake Christian Community Church, in Laurel Lake, PA.


There will be no funeral per his request.
