Margaret "Joan/Bama" VanVestrout, 85, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026 at UHS Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY surrounded by her adoring family. She is predeceased by her parents Charles and Margaret Louden, her brother Charles Louden II as well as her Mother and Father-in-Law Edith and Victor VanVestrout. She is survived by her husband Victor VanVestrout with whom she spent 66 amazing years together. She is also survived by her daughter Kathy (Darren Mertens) and grandchildren Katie (Gil), Nick (Elianna), Noah (Lindsey), and Logan (Rylee) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her special friends Mimi (her second daughter) and Joe Morgan and family. She will be missed and remembered fondly by her family, friends, and acquaintances, especially her bridge partners with whom she made some wonderful memories with.

Joan was the kindest, most loyal and probably the most perfect person anyone would know. She always kept a positive outlook on life and would do anything for anyone. In spite of recent ailments, she was constantly looking forward to the future and couldn't wait for family celebrations to get together to laugh and enjoy each other's company. She grew up riding horses and became quite the equestrian. She loved her horses immensely as well as her barn family.

Joan had an exceptional career which included working at IBM and Loral Federal Systems, and Lockheed Martin.

A special thank you would like to be extended to the providers at Endwell Family Physicians as well as the doctors and nurses at UHS Wilson Memorial Hospital. She always raved over the care that was given to her and we, as her family, are very grateful.

We will miss her greatly and she will be irreplaceable. Her spunk and loyalty will be treasured forever.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 4-5pm at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home in Endicott, NY with a memorial service to follow.
