Charles Wayne Davison Obituary

Charles 'Wayne' Davison (1942 – 2026)

Servant to God, son to Charles and Marian, husband to Linda for 61 years. Father to Mark, Heather, and Kate; fatherinlaw to Sharon, Brian, and Keith; grandfather to Jacob and Mason; and greatgrandfather to Hadley. A beloved brother, uncle, and constant presence to extended family and friends alike. Wayne's love was generously and evenly shared with all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Wayne walked in humility—quick with grace and humor, always understated, with an exceptionally long fuse that might occasionally turn into something resembling annoyance. He was blessed with innovative and imaginative creativity as an artist and graphic designer, which allowed him to operate his own business, The Graphorium. His ideas, logos, and designs have adorned many great businesses in the Triple Cities and beyond. If you've ever seen a Cider Mill billboard, then you've seen Wayne's work—simple, but effective. The Christmastime treasure hunts he created for his grandchildren are the stuff of family lore.

Wayne was deeply devoted to his faith, living it quietly and consistently. Through subtle and gentle ways, he encouraged many, not by proclamation, but by example. His life itself was his testimony—marked by kindness, patience, and integrity. Wayne always had encouraging words, but more importantly, he showed what it meant to live with purpose and compassion. His love for Linda was profound and enduring, matched only by the values that guided his life. A decadeslong member of St. Andrews Church, Wayne served in leadership and in many ways behind the scenes; even the church's logo bears his creative touch.

Wayne loved to tend to things—to help them grow. His plants, his garden. Every spring he could be found out in the yard, tilling the soil in preparation for a new season of flowers and vegetables. He cared for them patiently, watching for the first signs of growth and helping them flourish. Fresh vegetables and flowers would often decorate the table on the back porch, enjoyed during moments of quiet reflection or lively summer family meals.

Wayne loved his alma mater, the Syracuse Orange, his Yankees, and watching a game together—something that will be deeply missed. Loud laughter echoing out the windows was the norm. His fatherly wisdom and advice were softly delivered, thoughtfully developed, and offered with care.

One of Wayne's oftenquoted phrases was, "Thy will be done," words that helped him make sense of life's many events and challenges. When Wayne was preparing for the end of his life, these words were once again on his lips. While we will miss Wayne deeply in the days ahead, we hold gratitude for the life he lived, the love he shared, and the lasting presence he leaves with us. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 21, 2026 at 3 PM at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home LLC, 300 East Main St, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1PM until service time at 3.
