Richard L Lake Obituary

Richard L.(Dick) Lake passed away on Monday, February 23 at his home in Endwell.


He was born on July 11, 1933 in Binghamton, New York. The son of the late Ellis and Loretta (Martin) Lake. He grew up in Buffalo, New York; graduating from South Park High School.


After a few minor jobs, he joined the Navy and loved his time spent in naval aviation. He learned electronics and was hired by IBM when mustered out of the Navy, the company itself embarking into similar directions. He spent 35 years as an employee, first in Glendale and then on the main campus in Endicott.


Dick was heavily involved in softball and baseball on the east side of Binghamton and at IBM. He played, coached and managed little leagues, adult and coed leagues.



Dick was predeceased by his brothers: Bill, Don, Al, Jim and Ken and is survived by his brother Tom and his sister Patricia.



He is also survived by his wife, Lillian Rockefeller, his children, James (Roxanne) of Norwich, Kathleen of Binghamton, Bonnie of North Carolina Richard (Cindy) of Liverpool and Susan of Binghamton. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by Dennis and Kim Rockefeller, Susan and Robert Perez, Scott and Starr Rockefeller, Carrie Rockefeller, Matt and Britney Perez, Daniel and Anley Perez, Nina Rockefeller, Mads and Logan Perez, and a very special, great grandson, Winston Rockefeller.



Services will be held at Coleman and Danielle's Funeral Home LLC, 300 East Main St. Endicott New York. Visitation will be Saturday February 28,2026 from 12-2pm, prior to the service at 2:00 PM.
