He also loved racing, beginning with dragsters, then stock cars and finally endurance go karts. He spent much of his free time traveling out of state competing on the enduro go kart circuit and won the National Points Title for his division in 1975. He enjoyed a long and rewarding racing career mentoring other young racers along the way.
Doug and Lee also enjoyed building houses and built 3 over the course of their lives together. He was kind, generous, hard working, fun-loving and sensitive. He loved people and loved to talk. And the world was a better place with him in it. We miss him dearly.
