Penny Sue Hartquist (63) of Endicott, N.Y. went to be in the arms of her Lord and Savior on March 25, 2026. With her new body, she is no doubt running the streets of gold in Heaven.

Penny was predeceased by her mother (Dolores Lakin) and father (Edward Lakin). She is survived by her husband of 38 years, (William) Bruce Hartquist. She was greatly blessed with two children – Trevor (Kara) Hartquist of Lansdale, P.A. and Kylee (Alex) Dean of Endicott, N.Y. "Mimi" was loved by her 5 grandchildren – Mackenzie, Mason, Zachary, Carter, and Averie. Penny is also survived by her sister Donna (J.R.) Morrison; 2 nieces and a nephew.

Penny was a business owner of Lil Leon's Ice Cream for 10 years and worked in the UE School District for 20+ years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Johnson City; as well as Bridgewater / Northbridge Church. She loved working with the children and youth of the churches and loved her time as a youth leader.

Her most important decision in her life was trusting Jesus as her Savior, and she was baptized at First Baptist Church as an adult.

The family would like to thank the family and friends who acted as caregivers for Penny over the years. Also, many thanks to the "Prayor Warriors" who held Penny up over the years.

Visiting hours for Penny will be held at Coleman & Daniels in Endicott on Thursday April 2, 2026, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. A private burial, for family only, will follow the service.
