Vicente Pickett-Garcia Obituary
Our beloved Vicente Christiano Pickett-Garcia was unexpectedly called home by his Heavenly Father on April 14, 2026. He was born on March 11, 1998 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York. He is survived by his loving mother, Heather Pickett (Momma Bear), his father Edwin Garcia, his loving wife, Jocelyn (Juicy), his best friend, his little boy, Salvatore Christiano, Cheyenne Pasquale, the loving mother of their son Salvatore (or as Vicente would say "baby mama"), his big sister, Shealyn Garris and her husband Nathan, his mother in-law who loved him as her own, Kristen Rockey, his little brother in-law, who looked up to him more than anyone, Elias Gonzalez and his chosen brother by heart, Shakir Golden, and his Godfather Angel Ramirez. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends, especially Ryan MacDonald, Daniel Rose, Matthew Jachimowicz, and Dakota Pasquale.
He was pre-deceased by his great grandparents, Hiroko and Earl Pickett, his Papa and Mima, Ronald and Patricia Whitney, his Mamá and Papá, Marina and Andres Garcia, his cousin, Scotty Wright, and his uncles Dr. David Garcia, Juan Garcia, and Valentin Garcia.
Vicente attended Johnson City Schools and graduated in 2016. He studied criminal justice at SUNY Broome and graduated with his degree in 2018. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, golfing, bowling, and One Piece. He loved to collect watches and Dad Gang hats. His favorite thing to wear was his Nick Scacchetti hoodies and he loved to create adventures with Salvatore like Jeep picnics, the zoo, aquarium, and buying every Jurassic Park dinosaur toy that Sal didn't already have. Those of us who were blessed to know Vicente, saw him as the light in any room. He was a kind, selfless, hard worker, and most of all, a protector. He always wore his heart on his sleeve, cared deeply and passionately for the ones he loved and he was the most proud and devoted husband. Thanks to his longtime friends Courtney and Rudy Krupitza, Vicente met Jocelyn in December 2023. Vicente knew right away that Jocelyn was his soulmate and future wife. He proposed to her soon after on August 13, 2023 in Cleveland, Ohio and they later married on October 4, 2025 in Rome, Pennsylvania. Vicente adored their two dogs, Chewy and McQueen, and their cat, Karma. Salvatore, was his pride and joy. Vicente, "Chef Boyarvee" knew his way around a kitchen like the back of his hand. Cooking for his family and friends was a true love language and comfort for him. He was a true "car guy" and dreamed of one day owning a Nissan GT-R, in the color "millennium jade" as he never failed to mention. He was extremely proud of his Dominican and Japanese roots and dreamed of visiting Japan for his 30th birthday. He was affectionately known by his loved ones as Duke and then Babybear.
Vicente took great pride in his appearance, and as a show of respect to him, the family asks that only formal attire be worn to his funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so, may make a monetary contribution to support Salvatore's future at https://gofund.me/ea2958000
