Barbara L. Oliver, (nee Eddy) of Vestal, NY passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026 at the age of 85.

Barbara was the first child of Mary and James Eddy, born on August 21,1940 in Endicott, NY She is survived by her brother Dan Eddy (Kathy), sister Carole Powell, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joe Oliver, mother Mary Eddy, aunts Geri Nichols, Genny Hardy and brother-in-law Leon Powell.

Barbara was a lover of all animals, including those on the Campville, NY farm where she grew up. Over the years she always had a cat; Inky and Snowball were her favorites. She loved roller skating, especially dance-skating in her younger years. She spent hours listening to opera and jazz and was an avid reader throughout her life.

Barbara graduated from Vestal High School in the Class of 1958. This was followed by a long career in insurance at Columbian Mutual Life and AIG in Vestal NY.

She spent her final months at the Bridgewater Nursing Facility in Binghamton NY. The family would like to thank the staff who treated her with patience and kindness, especially her nurse Kelly. Her roommate Ann was a dear and special friend to Barbara.

Calling hours will be held at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Maine St. Endicott NY on Friday June 5 from 3-5. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery on a later date.
