Judith A McGehee Obituary

Judith A. McGehee

June 4, 1947 — June 2, 2026

Judith A. McGehee, 78, of Endwell, NY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday June 2, 2026.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Walter and Norma Carlson; her brother Paul Carlson; and her in-laws, Raymond and Clara McGehee.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Walter R. McGehee (Pastor Bob).

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Vanessa) McGehee, Jennifer (Ryan) Little, and Jonathan (Sarah) McGehee. She also leaves behind her nine precious grandchildren Connor, Kendell, Clara, Khloe, Camden, Liam, Weston, Brynn, and Waylon.

She is also survived by her brother Timothy (Wendy) Carlson, her sisters Nancy (Blaine) Welman, Debby (Bob) Gibson, Mary (Glenn) Rolley, Martha Jones, and her brother-in-law Thomas (Linda) McGehee and several nieces and nephews.

Judy was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in Hammond, IN as the oldest of seven children. She solidified her faith in Christ at age 13 and followed the Lord in believer's baptism. After graduation she went on to study at Moody Bible Institute and received her bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Trinity Christian College.

Judy and Bob got married in 1971 and moved to Frankfort, IN where Bob pastored Grace Baptist Church for 21 years. She was a kindergarten teacher and homeschooled her 3 kids for several years. In 1994 the family moved to Endicott, NY where Bob pastored West Endicott Baptist Church for 21 years. Judy faithfully served as a pastor's wife for those 42 years, taught elementary school at Ross Corners Christian Academy, and worked as a teachers aide in the Vestal School system before retiring in 2012.

She was a loving mother and grandmother to her three children including their three spouses and nine precious grandchildren. Judy expressed her gift of encouragement through her unique card ministry. She showed kindness and love as she composed long, handwritten notes affectionately referred to as "bedtime stories." She was known for her delicious homemade vegetable soup, lasagna, Christmas cookies, pies, and her famous Jell-O.

Judy's life verses were Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." She often said "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" She truly put all of her trust in Him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at UHS, especially Kristen Lewis, FNP who loved and cared for Judy for over 20 years.
