Dorothy Jean Sackett Obituary
Dorothy Sackett, 75, of Endicott, New York, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.
Proceeded by Raymond Bowman, the love of her life, on September 11, 2017. Dorothy was born on February 15, 1951, and throughout her life she was known for her steadfast Christian faith, her love for her family, and her kind and caring heart. She found strength and comfort in God's Word and lived her life seeking to reflect His love to those around her.
Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She was the loving
mother of Paul and Jon. She also carried in her heart the memory of two of her triplet children—a son
and a daughter—who preceded her in death. Though their time together was brief, they remained
forever loved and never forgotten.
Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Dorothy found encouragement, hope,
and peace in the Holy Scriptures, especially these passages from the King James Version:
Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
2 Timothy 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth."
Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our
Lord."
One of Dorothy's favorite reminders of God's love was found in Romans 5:8:
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us."
She also cherished the promise of salvation through faith in Christ found in Romans 10:9–10:
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
And the comforting invitation of Romans 10:13:
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
These verses reflected the hope and assurance that sustained Dorothy throughout her life and gave her
confidence in God's promise of eternal life.
She also found comfort and joy in the timeless hymns of the Christian faith. In the Garden, Amazing
Grace, Nothing but the Blood of Jesus, Blessed Assurance, and The Old Rugged Cross were among her
most cherished songs, each reminding her of God's grace, Christ's sacrifice, and the everlasting hope
found in Him.
