Robert A. Boettger
Robert A. Boettger, 88, of Endicott, went to be with his Lord on Monday April 28, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty J. Boettger; his son, Steven Boettger; and his sister, Elizabeth Hammer. He is survived by his children, Sally (Julian) Rizzi, Shari (Vernon) Wells, Sue (Jon) Bixby; nine grandchildren, Brian (Charity), Jeffrey, David (Brittany), Jessica, Stephen, Bradley, Evan, Adam (Mareena), and Alan; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Betty; one sister, Barbara (Ron) Butler; his brother, William (Jean) Boettger; several nieces, nephews and his special friend Joanne Camp. Bob was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Endicott. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and he retired from IBM. Bob had a love for music and was a member of the Kirby Band, Maine Community Band, Vestal Community Band, IBM Band and played with the Glenn Miller Band. He was a member of the AACA Iroquois Region Car Club. A funeral service will be held at the Central United Methodist Church, 17 Nanticoke Ave. Endicott, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Robert A. Boettger may be made to the Steve Boettger Scholarship Fund, checks payable to: Maine Community Band-Boettger Fund, c/o Treasurer Maine Community Band, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton, NY 13901.
