Obituary of James Tzivanis

Jim "Tizzy" Tzivanis, 60, of Endicott, passed away on November 27, 2016 at Binghamton General Hospital. Jim was predeceased by his father, Dino Tzivanis, mother-in-law, Evelyn Spring, and a brother-in-law, Bob Russell. His kind and thoughtful spirit will be carried on by his loving wife of 32 years, Sharon Tzivanis, Endicott; his mother, June Tzivanis, Endicott; his son, Dean Tzivanis, Syracuse, NY; his daughter, Kelsey Tzivanis, Endicott; two brothers, Dan (Gale) Tzivanis, Greenwich, CT; and Michael (Leslie) Tzivanis, Chicopee, MA; three sister-in-laws, Sally Russell, Vestal; Mary (Jim) Mulligan, Raleigh, NC; and a brother-in-law, Bill (Elizabeth) Spring, Vestal. The family would also like to acknowledge a special sister-in-law, Suzanne Spring, for her unwavering support and love. Tizzy was a four-year standout on the varsity golf team at Union-Endicott High School, winning the NYS team championship in 1973. He was a lifelong member at En-Joie Golf Club, and played competitively on the local golf circuit for three decades. Jim was known for his sharp precision around the greens, and ability to get the ball "up and down" from the most challenging of places on the golf course. Tizzy adored his son and daughter, Dean and Kelsey, and was the proudest of fathers. He was well-known throughout the Triples Cities for his sense of humor, ability to connect with all people, and a presence that was class act. More recently, Jim worked at a variety of establishments in the local area including Vestal Hills Country Club, Lampy's, and Kristofors, where he forged many new friendships and reconnected with friends of the past. Tizzy impacted many lives, and will be deeply missed by all. In honor of Tizzy, the family would like contributions to be made to the Union-Endicott Golf Team, which he supported for his entire life. Contributors can makes checks payable to the "U-E Golf Team," and send to the Union-Endicott Athletics Dept., 1200 E. Main St. Endicott, NY 13760. A Funeral Mass and celebration of Jim's Life will be offered Friday at 10:30AM from Church of the Holy Family, Endwell. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 300 East Main St., Endicott, Thursday from 4-7PM.
