Obituary of Joan Teresa Hanousek

"May the road rise up to meet you - May the wind be always at your back - May the sun shine upon your face - May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand" Joan Theresa Hanousek, 83, passed away peacefully at her home with her children by her side. She is survived by her children, Charles Scudiero (Connie), Stacia Spearbeck (Douglas), Joshua Hanousek, her siblings, John, Florence and Patricia, her grandchildren, Cara, Ben, Marc, Allison and Tim, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her best friend since childhood, Joanie Constantine. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret McKenna, her husband, Edmund Hanousek, her daughter, Lisa Gilli and her sister, Lois Hibbs and many other loved ones whom she has been reunited with. The family will have a memorial service at her longtime church, St. Margaret Mary's in Apalachin, NY on September 23, 2017 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you do something kind, compassionate and unselfish for someone(s). Donate to a local charity, help someone in need, visit someone in a nursing home who has no one. Our Mom lived her life this way, always putting others first and herself last. Please keep her memory alive by continuing to do the same.
