Obituary of Jean K Darling

Jean Kirkland Darling, 102 of Vestal NY passed away on Feb 20, 2024. Born in Johnson City NY in 1921 Jean was the daughter of Robert Burns and Angela (Shurvel) Kirkland. She was a graduate of Johnson City High School and then Business School in Binghamton. Jean was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. Jean was predeceased by her husband Carlyle Hahn Darling; mother Angela (Shurvel) Kirkland; father Robert Burns Kirkland; brothers Robert Kirkland Jr.; James Kirkland; Richard Kirkland; son-in-law Stephen Faidley; granddaughter Amanda Faidley; and dear friend Charlotte Hildebrandt Jean is survived by children Dennis and wife Helen Darling of Texas; Kirkland Darling of Binghamton; Scott and wife Jeorgenne Darling of Susquehanna, PA; Sean Darling of Vestal NY,; daughter Angela Faidley of Macungie PA; Grandchildren,; Carson and Cameron Darling, William and wife Savannah Faidley; Samantha and husband Michael Griffin; Taylor Faidley; Sarah and husband Mike Jones; Becky and husband Tyler Rae; Brandon Darling; Alexander Darling; Christopher and wife Skyler Darling; Jessica and husband Edward Aldridge; Great grandchildren Sylvia; Marcus; Tyler and Delaney Griffin; Katherine and Ryan Rae; Elijah and Emerson Aldridge. Also surviving Jean are her sister Mary Jayne (Kirkland) Westbrook of Binghamton; and brother John S Kirkland of Virginia. Special thanks to her dear friend and care giver Erin Hunter; Jonda Erwin, Mary Ryal Darling and Daniel Whicker; Jack and Helen Kowalewski. Jean was also blessed to have a number of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Services: A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am Tuesday, Feb 27, 2024 at Our Lady of Sorrows 801 Main St., Vestal NY. No visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mandee's Lunchbox 65 S. Lea St Macungie PA 18062. A nonprofit helping adults fighting cancer in memory of Jeans granddaughter, Amanda.
