Donald Spoor

Obituary of Donald R Spoor

Donald R. Spoor passed away peacefully after a long battle with renal failure on February 26, 2024. He is survived by his wife Elona, two daughters Lynda(Kevin Henderson) and Lori(Eric Hermansen), two grandchildren Thomas and Matthew, great grandson Ryan, his brother Robert Spoor and sister Margaret Grannis. Don was born September 23, 1937. He was 86 years old. Don was an Airman First Class from 1955-1959 for the United States Airforce. Later he began his career at General Electric in Westover as an electrical engineer until his retirement. In his spare time Don loved to golf and looked forward to volunteering at the B.C Open Tournament each year. Don loved the outdoors and being a part of nature. Each year he planted a vegetable garden and even grew and harvested pumpkins for his grandchildren. He was a member of the Black Kettle Sportsman club and looked forward to opening day for deer hunting each November. Don was devoted to his family and adored his grandchildren and the newest member, his great grandson Ryan. Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at Good Shepherd Villages in Endwell where Don resided the past three years. Their caring and attention never wavered even when his stubborn side was revealed! They have become our extended family and Don loved them all! He felt very much at home there every day. The family will receive friends at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home 300 East Main Street Endicott, NY on Friday March 1, from 10AM-12PM, with a Funeral Service at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY.
