Obituary of Esther Durfee

Durfee, Esther Esther Durfee, 84, passed away peacefully on July 11 at Ideal Senior Living Center after a long struggle with declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Clyde, in 1997. Esther is survived by her children, Marcia and David Honsaker, Susan and Brian Haight, Fred Durfee and Donna Hyde, and Cindy Durfee; her grandchildren, Michael Honsaker and Tanya Tarasova, Adam and Rosemarie Honsaker, Brianna and Michael Pompey, Brett Durfee and Kim Myrick, and Chris Haight and Stacey McGraw. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Natalie, Kiersten, Tommy, Emma, Raisa, Lizzie, Mason, Hayley, Zachary, Hannah and Jake. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, James Swartz, Richard and Shirley Swartz, Marilyn Wood and Joan Luchetta; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Ideal and particularly, all of Lily Court for their care and compassion. At Esther's request, funeral services will be private. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 14, at Brothers Two Restaurant from 1 to 3 p.m. to celebrate Esther's Life. Arrangements are with the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Endicott.
