Obituary of Robert E Vought

Robert (Rob) E. Vought Kirkwood: Robert (Rob) E. Vought, 61, of Kirkwood, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 1, 2012, after a long illness, with his loving family by his side. Rob was predeceased by his father, Wilton E. (Buckie) Vought Jr.; his mother, Norma J. Kilbourne; his stepfather, Daniel R. Kilbourne; grandfathers, Wilton E. (Buckie) Vought Sr. and Joseph L. Bartlett; grandmothers, Genevieve D. Vought and Frances H. Bartlett; and father-in-law, Richard C. Rouse. Rob is survived by his loving family: wife, Debbie A. (Rouse) Vought; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa L. (Rouse) and Steve Decker; son, Dan R. Vought; a very special granddaughter that he adored, Courtney Melissa Decker; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck Vought, Gene Vought and Sarah MacMillan, Joe Vought and Becky Nabinger, and John and Lisa Vought; two sisters, Michelle and Charlie Gaynor and Laura and Bob Frederick; mother-in-law, Shirley A. Rouse; two sisters-in-law, Thomas and Sherry Yarosh and Terry Jo Parsons; several nieces and nephews, Dannielle and Carl Yager, Patrick Gaynor, Anne Gaynor, J.J. Vought, Eric and Natalie Vought, Rick, Bill, and John Yarosh, Megan Dailey, and Hannah Parsons; great-nieces, Amanda and Kara Yager; great-nephew, Connor Dailey; and great-great-nephew, Carter Lysak; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Rob retired from Broome County Transportation where he was a bus driver and dispatcher. After retiring he babysat his granddaughter for the first 2 years of her life. Rob played bass guitar in several local bands, Juice, Aquarius, John David's Other Mood, Midnight Star, and others. Rob enjoyed spending time with his family, playing bass, watching Yankees games, watching old movies on the Turner network, gardening, Christmas morning at his Mom's for the annual wrapping paper toss, and the Vought family picnics. Rob was a very special man who will be sadly missed by his family. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rob's memory to a charity of one's choice. A special thanks to Rob's brothers and sisters for their love and support throughout his illness, and a special thanks to the Broome Volunteer Emergency Squad, emergency room doctors and nurses, CCU doctors and nurses at Wilson Hospital, and Dr. Leslie Bank for all they did for Rob.
