Obituary of Anne Arnold

Anne Foster Arnold Our wonderful mother and "Grammy" was reunited with her loving husband of 50 years, Frederick Arnold, on January 4, 2013. She was born August 5, 1937 in Lebanon, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; parents, Doris and John Foster; and son-in-law, James M. Reif. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her children, Joseph (Maria) Arnold, John (Elizabeth) Arnold, Susan Reif, Peter (Renee) Arnold, Carolyn (Robert) Mikeska, Mary (Kenneth, Jr.) Francisco, and David Arnold. She was a dedicated Grammy to 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, James (Ann Marie) Foster. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, The Confraternity of Christian Mothers, The Altar and Rosary Society, and Nocturnal Adoration, as well as a Eucharistic Minister for homebound and sick parishioners. Her kind and generous spirit was evident in all of her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels of Broome County, the Soup Kitchen at Our Lady of Good Counsel and countless hours with Birthright of Binghamton. She was a 1955 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and a 1958 graduate of Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Ideal Hospital in Endicott, NY. After putting her nursing career on hold for 30 years to take care of her family, she returned to nursing for CareGivers America in 1992. Spending time with her family brought her great pride and joy. She kept busy by attending her grandchildren's sporting events, graduations and special occasions. In recent years she enjoyed traveling and visiting family members, learning to use her new iPad, and helping take care of her younger grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 705 West Main Street, Endicott. Burial will follow at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-5 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's name to Meals on Wheels of Western Broome, Birthright of Binghamton or Our Lady of Good Counsel Soup Kitchen. Arrangements are with the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Endicott.
