Obituary of Thomas Henry Ivory, Jr.
Mr. Thomas Henry Ivory Jr., son of the late Dr. Thomas Ivory and Ella (McLoughlin) Ivory passed in peace, Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was born October 1, 1926 in Binghamton NY, graduated from Harpur College and served in the US Navy during World War II. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Sally (O'Brien) Ivory, grandson, David Pittarelli and sister Jean Ivory Smykal. Loving father of Thomas P. Ivory (Mary), Timothy J. Ivory (Patty), Shawn Barnett (Dan), Tami Azouri (Al) and proud grandfather of John Pittarelli, Patrick Ivory, Ryan Ivory, Matthew Ivory, Meghan Gerdeman, Tim Ivory, Kate Ivory, Kayla Azouri and Chris Azouri and great grandfather of Kai, Evan, Colin, Molly, Michael, James and Nora. He is also survived by his brother Dr. Paul E. Ivory (Julie). He found joy in the simple things in life, passing time on his deck, walks along the riverbank, listening to classical music and trips to Lake Ontario. He loved playing and watching golf and was thrilled to play in the BC Open ProAm, but what gave him the greatest joy was making memories with his family. He loved attending his grandchildren's events and was their biggest fan. He always had time to listen or share his wisdom often reminding us to stop and smell the roses. He taught us to live and let live. His Irish twinkle brought a smile to all who met him. His warm and friendly spirit will be missed. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 2 from 3pm - 5pm at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 300 Main Street, Endicott. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church on Monday, April 3 at 10:00am. Entombment will be held at Riverhurst Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.
