Obituary of Marion Bassett

Marion E. (Jones) Bassett of Endicott 6/9/24 - 7/9/13 Marion E. (Jones) Bassett of Endicott died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 after a short illness. Born in Hawley, PA, daughter of the late William and Henrietta (Schaeffler) Jones. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Leon E. Bassett and her two sisters, Helen (Jones) Nabinger and Florence (Jones) Cuddy Nash. She is survived by her sons, Gary L. Bassett of Phoenix AZ. and Jan E. Bassett of Boca Raton, FL. She is also survived by her daughter, Marion Kay E. (Bassett) Harvey and her son-in-law, Charles G. Harvey of Endicott, her grandchildren, Noel, Jeffrey, Wendy, Michael, Josh, Anna, Ruby, Carlos, and Carrie, and all of her great-grandchildren. Marion was a life member of American Legion Aux. Post 1700 where she was a Past President and Past County Chairman. She was also a member of VFW Post 2232 Aux. Marion's family would like to thank the nurses and aides at the Ideal Skilled Nursing Center for their kindness and care of our mother/grandmother/friend in her final months. Marion was a giving person in life and in death, donating her remains to Upstate Medical for research and education.
