Obituary of Martha A Palka

Marty Palka Marty Palka, 73, of Vestal, died peacefully on July 18th, 2013 as a result of complications from a heart attack. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe; her parents John and Mary Kolsovsky; and siblings Joe, Steve, John, Mary, Mike, and Anne. She is survived by her children Gayle Palka (Rob Haney), Kristen Harding (Patrick), and Joe Palka (Tia); grandchildren Joseph and Matthew Palka and Meredith Harding; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marty worked for many years as a dental assistant and for the past 18 years touched many lives as a volunteer for the Lourdes Hospital Hospice Program in Binghamton, NY. Marty had an amazing zest for life; she was kind, generous, fun, and a loving presence in the lives of all who knew her. This amazing and classy woman will be missed by many. The family would like to thank Marty's medical teams at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, NY, and the Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA for both the expert medical care given and the compassionate manner in which that care was rendered. Calling hours are scheduled for Saturday, July 27th from 1 - 4 pm at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main Street, Endicott, NY, with a brief service to follow.
