Obituary of Frank J. Macri

Frank J. Macri, 78, of Apalachin, NY passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital. He is predeceased by a son, Kenneth P. Macri, and his wife, Jeanne L. Macri. He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Macri (DeeDee Korchak) of Binghamton, and Wendy (James) Hickin of Endwell, and one son, James Macri of Los Angeles, CA; three grandchildren, Danielle, Kristine, and Brian Hickin, all of Endwell. Frank was the valedictorian of Benjamin Franklin High School. Carbondale, PA and won a full scholarship to Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA where he received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1956. He worked for 31 years as an engineer and manager at IBM, Owego and 20 years as an investment advisor and certified financial planner, primarily at The Partners Insurance & Financial Services, Vestal. Frank was also a founding member and VP of Owego Associates, Inc. comprises of the Owego Treadway Inn, the Holiday Inn Express, Owego, and the Hampton Inn. He was a dance enthusiast, learning and later teaching his favorites: the Cha Cha, Mambo, Tango and Jitterbug at Arthur Murray studio in Binghamton. He was also a long standing member of the Apalachin Lions Club. He especially cherished his lifetime friendships with the Yeates (Rita & Gordon of Vestal), Bado (Fran & Jan of Williamsburg, VA) and Moretin (Jane & Lou of Endicott) families. A Funeral Service for Frank will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9th, at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main Street, Endicott. Rev. Brian Carpenter of Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Margaret Mary's Church of Apalachin will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, J.C. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 8th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
