Kelly A. Cheeseman, Ph.D
Kelly A. Cheeseman, Ph.D of Enola, PA, formerly of Vestal: Kelly, who was 38 years old, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 9, 2013, and is in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Albert and Eleanor Lane, paternal grandparents Herbert and Ruth Cheeseman and a nephew Joshua Powers. She is survived by her parents Charles and Marcia Cheeseman, sister Amy and husband Eric Powers, sister Debra Sickler and brother Charles Cheeseman Jr. and wife Wendy, five nephews and four nieces, two special friends Beth Rivera and Dave Bretz as well as many other family and friends. She grew up in Vestal NY where she was very involved in multiple activities including basketball, soccer as a goalie and Vestal Voices. She graduated with honors from Vestal High School in 1993. She attended Oswego State and later Youngstown state where she received her bachelors in Criminal Justice with a double major in Psychology. She later graduated from Sam Houston State in Texas where she received a Masters and a Doctorate in Criminal Justice. She was a member of multiple professional societies, had published many articles and books. She had been a professor at multiple Universities including Old Dominion, Southern Mississippi and Messiah College. She loved to teach and interact with her students and they loved her dearly. In her off time she enjoyed riding her motorcycle and ATV as well as playing and loving on her two sweet dogs Ham and Abby. She always enjoyed spending time with her two special nephews Daniel and Ethan who always made her laugh. She had an infectious sense of humor and loved to laugh and have fun. She was loved and will be missed by so many. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home LLC, 765 Main St, Vestal. The Rev. John Lucas pastor of the Tracy Creek Memorial Church will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday from 4-7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Juvenile Diabetes Assn, CNY Chapter, 100 Metropolitan Drive #400, Liverpool, NY 13088
