Obituary of Phyllis S. Mroczka

Phyllis S. Mrozcka Of Apalachin Phyllis S. Mrozcka, 54, passed away unexpectedly at home on Long Creek Road, Apalachin, New York on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. She was born Phyllis Scarlato on February 24, 1954 in Bridgehampton, Long Island. She was predeceased by her parents, Phillip and Eleanor Scarlato. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, James (Jesse); and her two beautiful daughters, megan and Kaitlyn; and her brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Marty; and her sister, Eleanor; and her nephew, Benjamin. She was a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. She worked as a psychiatric nurse with the Greater Binghamton Health Center. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She was a proud celebrant of the anniversary of her 29th birthday annually. She enjoyed camping, hiking, kayaking, skiing, photography, electronic crossword games, and was a Girl Scout Leader for several years. She appreciated many different kinds of music. She was an accomplished quilter and her quilts were full of bright colors and filled with love. Phyllis was the undisputed leader of the Mrozcka family. Her level head allowed her to face many of life's challenges with calm in the middle of chaos. She will be loved forever and missed by James, Kaitlyn and Megan and numerous family members and friends. Viewing hours will be on Monday, February 2nd, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Apalachin United Methodist Church to be followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Apalachin United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Apalachin United Methodist Church, 303 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin, NY 13732. Funeral arrangements are by the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., St. Rt. 434, Apalachin.
