Obituary of Richard Snyder
Richard H. Snyder
Richard H. Snyder, 73, died unexpectedly Friday, January 24, 2014, at his home in West Milford, NJ. Dick, as he was known by his friends, was born on December 28, 1940, in Fulton, NY to Carl and Alberta Snyder. Dick attended Vestal High School and went on to further his education at Broome Tech. After college he entered the Army to serve his country. Upon his discharge from the military, Dick entered the work force where he took a job with IBM and spent over 30 years working with the company before retiring. Upon retirement, Dick dedicated himself to enjoying life to the fullest. An avid train enthusiast, he traveled far and wide to enjoy his hobby. Dick also loved the outdoors. His goal was to travel to all 50 states to photograph and enjoy God's beautiful handiwork. He came up one state short, missing out on Hawaii. Dick was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his sister, Marlene (Steve) Martin of Batavia, NY; sister, Charlene (Dave) Kennicutt of Apalachin, NY; brother, Ronald Snyder of Binghamton, NY; niece, Michelle Truesdell of Batavia, NY and nephew, Steve (Rebecca) Martin of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, Rebecca and Kimberly Truesdell and Nick and Kaitlyn Martin, who remember fondly his Donald Duck impersonation and his goofy antics. The family will receive friends to celebrate his life on Friday January 31, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main Street, Vestal, NY. A private graveside service will be held in the spring in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
