Obituary of Stanley H. Banas

Apalachin: Stanley H. Banas, 81 of Apalachin went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3rd 2014. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Frank and Apalonia; brother, Walter; son, Guy; son,Terry; daughter, Teal and his first wife, Judith. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Virginia; children, Steven Banas, John Minnick, Mary Matheny, Bobby Minnick, Larry Minnick, Janet Bartlow; many grandchildren and great-grand children. Stanley was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and work in his garden. He loved to work and was an exceptional wood cutter. He was a member of Lake View Chapel where he held many positions including Sunday school teacher and was one of the elders. The family would like to thank the nurses at Wilson Regional Medical Center for there passionate care, and everyone for there prayers and support. Services for Stanley will be held Tuesday, April 8th at 10:00am at Lake View Chapel, 185 Day Hollow Rd. Owego NY. Calling hours for family and friends will be held Monday, April 7th from 5 to 7pm at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 6519 Rt. 434, Apalachin NY. Burial will take place in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the American Diabetes Association.
