Obituary of Francis X. Schofield

Francis X. Schofield Francis X. (Frank) Schofield, 92, of Endwell, born February 2, 1922, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter A. and Mary A. (Loftus) Schofield; his wife of 31 years, Dolores J. Schofield; brother, David Schofield; sister, Martha (Schofield) McCallum; and his first Schofield, Francis X. (Frank)Endwell: wife, Marjorie (Butler) Schofield. He is survived by his loving children: daughter, Ellen M. Long of Charlotte, NC; son, Stephen S. Schofield of Endicott; stepdaughter, Laura A. and Ronald Slavin of Endwell; stepdaughter, Terese M. Kar of Friendsville, PA; beloved granddaughter and husband, Erin and Robert Janezic of Charlotte, NC; his special great-grandchildren, Connor and McKenzie Janezic of Charlotte, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Dolores Schofield of Sylvan Beach, NY; brother-in-law, Stanley C. Titcomb of Endicott; many nieces and nephews and their families and several dear friends. He was a member of the Company of Fifers and Drummers of Connecticut, and was a former State and National Snare Drummer Champion in Atlantic City. He was a member of Saint Ambrose Church since 1926, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1839 of Endicott since 1945, and a member of the Endicott Elks BPOE #1977. He was an original charter member and founder of the Continental Ancient Fife and Drum Corp of Endicott. Frank was a retired employee of IBM with 31 years of service, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Motion Picture Projectionist Union IATSE from 1941 to 1999 and served as a former business agent. He was a Boys Scout of America Cub Master. Frank was an actor and director of the Susquehanna Players and was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and the Union Historical Society. A Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Ambrose Church in Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 East Main Street, Endicott, Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
