Obituary of Johanna Roman

Johanna G. J. Roman Of Vestal Johanna Geertruida Julia Roman, 77, of Vestal, NY passed away peacefully on June 9, 2007 at Meadow View Senior Living Center. Johanna (Annie) was born in Arnhem, Holland, and came to the US with her husband Karol in 1955. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who gave of herself freely to everyone. She loved needlework, traveling to Europe, her flowers and a clean house. She was a member of the Vestal Center United Methodist Church and was active in church activities for many years. She was predeceased by her mother, Johanna Van Lierop; her father, Jan Jansen; and stepfather, Cornelis Boudewijn. She is survived by her husband, Karol; son and daughter-in-law, Karol and Judy Roman; grandchildren, Brian Perry, Aaron and Joel Roman, Brackney, PA.; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Melanie Roman; grandchildren, Jessica and Katlyn Borzillieri, Manlius, NY; cousins, Mary Derlage, Arie and Gepke van der Heijden; and many other relatives in Holland; Steve and Ruth Roman (New Milford) and the rest of Dads family; dear friends, Christina Kopf (Binghamton), Toki Arends, (Velp, Neth) Edmond Myszka (Eindhoven, Neth). Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main ST., Vestal. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday at Vestal Center United Methodist Church, West Hill Rd., Vestal. The Rev. Roger Frederick will officiate. Mom loved flowers, so in addition to flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Vestal Center United Methodist Church. A private interment service will be held at the convenience of the family.
