Obituary of Irene Dretar

Irene (Karwaski) Dretar Of Endicott, NY Irene (Karwaski) Dretar, of Endicott, NY and formerly of Taylor and Clarks Summit, PA, passed away Thursday morning, August 9, 2007, at the Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Demetro George Dretar in 1999; and four brothers, Joseph, Edmund, John and Leo Karwaski. She was born November 24, 1920 in Old Forge, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Martha Lehman Karwaski. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Carolee Dretar, Vestal; grandchildren, Marybeth J. and Thomas P. Donofrio, Endicott, Attorney Nicole D. Dretar, Arlington, Va.; great-grandchildren, Adrianne and Thomas Donofrio, Endicott; a sister, Rose Pechniak, Martinsburg, W. Va.; and a brother Michael Karwaski, Taylor, Pa. Prior to her retirement, she was the owner/operator of Dress Factories in Taylor and Wilkes Barre, Pa. She was a member of St. Josephs Church of Endicott and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. A private Funeral Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Old Forge, PA. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Josephs School, 207 Hayes Ave., Endicott, NY 13760. Arrangements are by the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott.
