Helen A. (Campbell) Denton
Of Endicott
Helen A. (Campbell) Denton passed away September 7, 2007 at Willow Point Nursing Home after a long struggle through Alzheimers. Helen was born January 28, 1929 in Endicott, NY, and had such fond memories of her childhood years in West Endicott. Helen was predeceased by her father and mother, Ronald Campbell and Marian (Frantz Campbell) Mead; her sister, Shirley (Campbell) Kerkneklian; daughter and son-in-law, Kay M. (Denton) and Jerry Fisher. She was also predeceased by her husband, Lyman M. Denton, who did his best to help her cope with her Alzheimers until his death. Helen is survived by her sister, Ruth (Campbell) Harrington; and her brother and his wife, Roland (Luke) and Mary Campbell; her two sons and daughters0in0law, Kenneth and Barbara Denton, and David and Patricia Denton; five daughters and five sons-in-law, Raelene and James Shamp, Janice and Michael Vercolen, Teri and Terry Hill, Laura and Tim Newton, and Joanne Denton, and Douglas Rhodes; grandchildren, Jason, Nolan, Mallory, David, Lee, Carren, Alex, Brian, Nicholas, Trudi, David Jr., Christy, Brienne, Connie, Randy, Tressa, Christopher, and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Austin, Alyssa, Kirsten, Dominic, Cody, Kaelyn, Logan, Jesse, Rashi, Melia, Kalen, Aidan, Amber, and J.T.
Helen raised eight children and worked in the cafeteria at Maine Memorial School. She attended the Maine Federated Church, and was a member of the Maine Womens Fireman Auxiliary. She also enjoyed having coffee with friends and doing various crafts.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at the Maine Federated Church, 2615 Main St., Maine. The Rev. Carol Sprite, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The family would like to thank the staff at Willow Point Nursing Home, who gave such loving care.
