Delbert R. Dunham
Of Endicott
Delbert R. Dunham, age 84, of Endicott, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 9, 2007 surrounded by his wife and family. He was born and raised in Endicott, NY. After high school, he served his country during World War II as an Aviation Navigator in the European Theater, participated in D Day, and spent a week with the Holland underground when his plane was shot down. He worked as an auto mechanic and retired from the Binghamton City School District after a career in teaching and coaching the golf team. He was an active member of the Nimmonsburg United Methodist Church and a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed playing the part of Judas in the Passion of Christ, working with the Habitat gang on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and his sense of humor and great laugh will be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, Delbert and Aylene Dunham; an infant son; his son, Bruce N. Dunham; and his sister, Charity Siefert. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 60 years, Wilma (Krise) Dunham; and his children, Lynn (Connie), David (Darlene), Lorayne (Brad) Burdick, Patricia, Becky (Jim) McAndrews, Kathie, Tom (Julie); and daughter-in-law, Cindy (Wayne)Crispell; son-in-law, David Meredith; sisters, Jane (Charles) Loeffler and Betsy (David) Twomey; brothers, George (Irene) Dunham and Franklyn (Ann) Dunham; 17 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Delbert will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc. 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity or the Nimmonsburg United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
