Obituary of Peter Benardes

Peter Benardes Of Endicott Peter Benardes of Endicott passed away peacefully on September 16, 2007 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Maria Benardes; and a brother, George Benardes. He is survived by his wife, Tessie; son, James and daughter-in-law, Deborah; daughter, Ellen and her significant other, Jerry Nolan; daughter, Mary and fianc, Daniel Baldock; three grandchildren, Deanna, Stephen and Miranda, all of Endicott; sister, Evangelia and her husband, Milton Marinos; brother, Petro and his wife, Soso; sister-in-law, Evangelia Benardes, Psara, Greece; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Peter was born in Psara, Greece. He served in the Greek Army during WWII. After coming to the United States in 1953, he became a restaurant owner and later, the owner of a paint contracting business. Peter enjoyed cooking, gardening, opera, and taking long walks. He will be deeply missed by his family. The family would like to thank Ideal Senior Living Center, Lily Court staff, for their compassionate care they provided during the short time he was there. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Thursday, September 20, 2007, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends 10:00 12:00 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
