Obituary of Jennie H. Boras
Jennie H. Boras of Endwell Jennie (Giovanna) Helen (Mangione) Boras joined her Heavenly family on February 22, 2009. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Boras; and predeceased by her loving mother, Antoinette (Albanese); father, Salvatore Mangione; sisters, Rosalie Di Cesare and Mary Mason; brother, Louis Mangione. She is also survived by her four adoring children, Barbara, Robert, Thomas and Ken, their spouses, Bill Choate, Suzanne Warren, Jackie Marlette; and grandchildren, Alex, Matthew, Britton, Sonja, Raelyn and Julia; as well as many nieces, nephews, godchildren and close friends that all meant the world to her. She and Michael were married at St. Patrick's Church, October 27, 1945 in Rochester, N.Y. They were happily married for 64 wonderful years. Each year was more memorable than the last; and each year was made special with Mike at her side whether they were traveling to Europe to experience the birth places of their parent, cross country trips, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, or traveling to the graduations of their children and grandchildren. Jennie was a tireless worker. In addition to the time she spent raising four children and caring for Mike and her home, Jennie worked for Endicott Johnson Shoe Co., she worked for a local caterer, and worked in the kitchen at Endwell Junior High for many years. As a member of SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Jennie worked tirelessly in the Ladies Alter Society. She was active in Maine-Endwell PTA and Booster Club while their children attended and loved to get together with her many friends; and when younger, enjoyed her monthly meetings with the Tzarina Club. Jennie's talent for cooking drew her family close to home on every special occasion. Her taste in clothing and natural beauty, made her always appear so impeccable. Her buoyant personality, sense of humor, and great smile always made you feel welcome. Jennie was very sharp and witty and was conversant about the top cooking shows and the latest fashion. Jennie loved gifts and cards that said how you feel. Her gift to friends and family was to share a meal or a dessert she personally prepared; or finding a new recipe to prepare for church coffee hours. Her sense of style and grace in the way she kept her hair and the way she dressed and her belief that the most important life values are faith in God, great friendships and close family ties were gifts to each of her children and grandchildren. The Viewing will be at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott, 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 27. Funeral services: SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28. In lieu of flowers, donations for a gift in her memory may be made to SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 210 Hill Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
