Obituary of Flora M Quick

Flora M. Avery Quick of Maine, N.Y. Flora M. Avery Quick, 80, of Maine, N.Y., went to be with her Lord Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 7:10 p.m. at her home. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Beatrice Barnes Avery; her husband, Floyd C. Quick; a granddaughter, Jessica Quick; a great-granddaughter, Allysia Olson Quick; two brothers and a sister. Flora's great loves were for her children and grandchildren, her church and her love of singing. She was a choir member of First Baptist Church of Maine, N.Y., for over 20 years, Ladies Ensemble Choir for 10 years, and taught 23 years Sunday School for 2 and 3 year olds. She was an accomplished yodeler for various family functions and hosted many family reunions and parties. Her home was always open to family and friends and she will be sorely missed. She is survived by five sons and three daughters and their spouses, David and Gloria Bourassa, Endicott, F. Dale and Jill Quick, Naples, Fla., Daniel and Carol Quick, Endicott, Gladys and Milton Jump, Barton, N.Y., Paula and Eugene Scales, Newark Valley, N.Y., Phillip and Annie Quick, Endicott, Timothy and Jody Quick, Endicott, N.Y., Terry and Cindy Quick, Naples, Fla.; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Beatrice Coney and Sylvia Lawton, Endicott, N.Y.; four brothers and spouses, Mark and Meme Avery, John and Karen Avery, Endicott, Ezra and Anna Avery, Johnson City, N.Y., Russell and Barbara Avery, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday at 12 Noon from the First Baptist Church of Maine. The Rev. Loren Winn, Pastor of her church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main St., Endicott, Sunday from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Monday morning from 11 a.m. until service time at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church of Maine, Church St., Maine, N.Y. 13802.
