Obituary of Sherry E. Vandervort

Sherry E. Vandervort Sherry E. Vandervort of Vestal Center Sherry E. Vandervort, 76, of Vestal Center went to be with the Lord Friday morning, March 6, 2009 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Vandervort; 2 grandchildren, Christy and Adam; and a brother, Rodney. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Ray and Judy Vandervort, Brent and Debbie Vandervort, Cliff and Beth Vandervort, Brenda and Rick Stewart, Susan and Darwin Skretta; grandchildren, Emily Mason, Lauren Vandervort, Lucas and wife, Sandy Vandervort, Tiffany Vandervort, Tyler Vandervort, Cody Vandervort, Nicollette Race, Carrie and Matthew Miron, Justin Vandervort, two brothers and three sisters-in-law, David and Carol Hammond, Danny and Sandy Hammond, Betty Hammond . Also her beloved companion, Jake; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Vestal Center United Methodist Church, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Womens Army Corp. The family would like to thank all her caregivers, especially Hospice for their loving care of Sherry. Funeral and interment services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Vestal Center United Methodist Church, 478 West Hill Road, Vestal Center. The Rev. Roger L. Frederick, Pastor of her church will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home Inc., 765 Main St., Vestal, Sunday, from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Vestal Center United Methodist Church or to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
