Obituary of Marilyn L. Hockenberry

Marilyn Lou Hockenberry of Vestal Marilyn Lou Hockenberry, a mother in Israel & God's Child, passed to her eternal rest Saturday, March 14, 2009. She was born Marilyn Noyes April 19, 1933, the daughter of Olin and Pearl Noyes. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Vernon W. Hockenberry, Vestal. They were married Sept. 24, 1952. Also survived by a son, James Olin Hockenberry, Van Hornesville, NY, and a daughter, Melanie Ann Collis and son-in-law, Richard; granddaughters, Jennifer Lou and Lyndsie Michele Collis, Tully, NY. Marilyn was a member of Crown & Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church, Owego, NY, and also a member of Tracy Creek Memorial Church for 65 years. Marilyn was a devoted foster mother for many years, raising 23 foster children. Marilyn lived her lifetime on the family farm in Tracy Creek. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Owego Reformed Presbyterian Church, 28 Main St., Owego. Interment will be in Vestal Park Cemetery, Vestal. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott, and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Crown & Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church, Owego, Tracy Creek Memorial Church, Vestal, or to the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad.
