Obituary of Patricia Thornton

Patricia Ann Thornton Patricia Ann Thornton, born on the seventeenth of October, 1936 as Patricia Ann Hopper, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the eighth of April 2008. After a long struggle with complications following heart surgery she is finally at rest. Pat was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from Butler High School on the twentieth of June, 1955. On June twentieth 1970 she gave birth to her son, Dwayne Christopher Thornton in Patterson, New Jersey. Shortly after, she and Dwayne moved to Honesdale, Pennsylvania where Pat held positions as a nurses aide, secretary and ward clerk at Ellen Memorial Nursing Center and was an active member in the Honesdale Gospel Tabernacle Church. She then moved to Montrose to work as a pastry chef for the Montrose Bible Conference and later as a nurses aide for ASA Park Manor. When her health began to fail, she moved to the Binghamton area with her son and since 1999 she resided in Endicott with her son, Chris (Dwayne), her adopted son, Billy, and her pets, Benny, Gracie, Mouse, Sadie and Shadow. Pat was a strong spirited woman who dedicated her life to her son and her faith. She will be missed greatly by all whose lives she has touched. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Burial will be in Maine Cemetery. The family will receive their friends on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
