Obituary of Gary Avery
Gary Edwin Averyof Vestal, N.Y.
Gary Edwin Avery, 61, of Vestal, went to be with his Lord on April 23, 2008 after a long struggle with diabetes. He was born on June 1, 1946 at Ideal Hospital to Edwin and Mary (Jennings) Avery, who predeceased him. Gary was a longtime employee of I.B.M. Endicott, serving for over 35 years. He will be remembered as an avid fisherman, gardener, and golfer. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 33 years, Karen (Milton) Avery; his three children, Kristen, Michael, and Steven; two sisters, Sandra Avery Starner and her husband, George, and Roxanne Yagley; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Vivian Milton; brothers-in-law, John and his wife, Lisa, and David and his wife, Bobbie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gary's family would like to thank the entire staff of Binghamton General Hospital Memorial 3, the dialysis staff, and Dr. Ramanujan for their exceptional care, compassion, and kindness.
The family will receive friends at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Brian Hurley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Gary's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 356 N. Midler Ave., Syracuse, N.Y. 13206.
