Obituary of Shirley McHale

Shirley Ann (Young) McHale Of Apalachin Shirley Ann (Young) McHale, 72, of Apalachin, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Ann and Earl Young, her sister, Kay Cornish-Mann, brother-in-law, Charlie Mann; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her beloved family, her husband, Walter, of 53 years; son, Kenneth; niece and her husband, Pamela and Joseph Drum; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Helen Vargason, Vestal; several cousins and many close friends. She graduated from Vestal Central High School in 1952 and was a former employee of the Endicott-Johnson Corporation in Owego. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, gardening, and collecting her elephants. Family wishes to thank the Broome Oncology Department at Lourdes, the Broome County Hospice, and the staff at Ideal Senior Living Center, Lilly Court, for their loving care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 1:00 P.M. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., St. Rt. 434, Apalachin. The Rev. Phil Jordan will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of ones own choice.
