Obituary of Marguerite (MeMe) Avery

Marguerite (MeMe) Avery, age 81, of Endicott, NY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 29, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Viva (Barber) Anderson; two brothers, James and Louis Anderson; a brother-in-law, Ward Koehler. The is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Mark Avery Sr.; and three sons, Ronald Avery, Rusty and Jonna Avery, and Mark Avery Jr.; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous caring nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Koehler, Owego; and sister-in-law, Ellie Anderson, Endicott. MeMe loved her family and church. She dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all the families of the church, but most of all, her life and testimony was for our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. She is in her heavenly home right now. MeMe has graduated! Amen. The family would like to extend a loving thank you to the following: Lourdes Hospice staff, especially her nurse, Danielle - Thank You!; Pastor McGehee and the congregation of her church, West Endicott Baptist Church, where she has been a lifelong member for the constant prayers and loving kindness they have bestowed through this - Thank You! The Avery family will receive friends and family at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott, Sunday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the West Endicott Baptist Church, 515 West Wendell St., Endicott. The Rev. Robert McGehee, Pastor of her church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell at the convenience of the family.
