Obituary of Richard J Ford

Richard J. (Dick) Ford Of Endicott Richard J. (Dick) Ford, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord at Cleveland Heart Clinic on Thursday, May 29, 2008 with his family by his side. For the past 16 years, Dick fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, lung and heart disease. His strength was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him. Dick was the owner of Dick Fords Quality Body Shop in Endwell, NY, for the past 32 years. His legacy and love of auto body work as been passed on to his loving son and best friend, Jason. Dick was predeceased by his father, John Ford; granddaughter, Erica Fedor; son-in-law, Tim Fedor; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Mary Miller. Dick is survived by his loving and proud wife, Barbara (Miller) Ford; his cherished daughter, Gina; and a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jessica Ford; and grandchildren, Gavin Fedor, Norah Ford, and Taylor Mihok. Also surviving are his sisters, Shirley (Mike) Zimmer, JoAnn Wood; mother, Matilda Webster; half brother, Rick Webster; brother-in-law, Bud (Arlette) Miller; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Gallagher, friend and constant support. There was no greater pride in Dicks life than his role as father and Papa to his children and grandchildren. His favorite times and memories were spent at his summer home in Sandy Pond surrounded by family and friends. Dicks life ended the way it was lived, with great dignity, respect and courage. The funeral service will be held 8:45 a.m., Friday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott, and 9:30 at St. James Catholic Church, 155 Main St., Johnson City, where a Funeral Mass will be offered.
