Ronald R. Montanari Ronald R. Montanariof Endicott8/12/1936 - 7/7/2008Ronald R. Montanari of Endicott passed away Monday, July 7, 2008 at Wilson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Mike and Flora Montanari. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, Endicott; one son, Michael Montanari and one daughter, Debbie Montanari, both of Little River, S.C.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Clare Montanari, Robert and Carolyn Montanari; two sisters, Mary and Carol Montanari, all of Mass. Ron was formerly of Plymouth, Mass. where he graduated from Plymouth High School in 1954. He was married to Lorraine (Levesque) Montanari, formerly of New Brunswick, Canada. He attended Boston University and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955, training in radio communications. He served in Greenland during his Air Force career. Ron went to work for IBM in Air Defense for the Corp. Military Products Division and received IBM Flight Wings for his work in Field Engineering. He retired from IBM in 2002 as a Technical Writer. He loved to play Saxophone for his family. Ron was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. Ron joined Endicott Lodge #1977 BPOE in 1987. He was Exalted Ruler from 1995 to 1996. He became State Vice President in 2003 serving until 2004. He was a District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler from 2005 to 2006. A Funeral Service for Ronald will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main St., Endicott, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment will be at the family's convenience. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott, Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Endicott Lodge #1977 BPOE will conduct a Lodge of Sorrow at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m. Those wishing may make contributions in Ron's memory to the American Cancer Society, Broome County Chapter, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790 or to the American Heart Association, Broome County Chapter, 59 Court St., Binghamton, NY 13901.
