Obituary of Ethel J. Blair

Ethel Jean Blair Ethel Jean Blairof BinghamtonEthel Jean Blair, 86, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Ethel was born in Hazelton, Pa., on January 31, 1922. She married Rodney Blair in 1940, and they raised their three children together in Binghamton until Rodney's death in 1960. She also cared for several foster children during this time. Ethel had always been passionate about sharing the gospel with children and was the director of Child Evangelism Fellowship in Johnson City, N.Y., for 25 years until she retired in 1996. She continued to serve faithfully in CEF long after she retired, until she went to live with her daughter, Bonnie in Michigan in February 2007. She went back to school to receive her Associate's degree from SUNY at age 68. Ethel was also an active member of Faith Bible Church in Binghamton for nearly 60 years. She spent her life blessing others and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Blair; son, Dana Blair; and daughter, Betty Gardiner. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Hull and husband, Dan, Northville, Mich.; and daughter-in-law, SunYe Blair, Buffalo, N.Y. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.A viewing will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m., Saturday at Faith Bible Church, 1807 Hawleyton Rd., Binghamton. The service will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor John Treischmann. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott.
