Obituary of Frank Avason

Frank Avason, Jr. Frank Avason, Jr. passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his home after a long battle with lung cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ida (Triano) Avason; infant sister, Francis; and sister-in-law, Ann Przywara. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; son, Dr. Frank (Shannon); daughter, Linda; and grandsons, Byron and Benjamin. Frank is also survived by his sisters, Josephine (Earl) Coccetti and Lucille (James) Clark; sisters-in-law, Rose Grunik and Helen (John) Estock; brother-in-law, Walter Przywara, all of Pennsylvania; as well as aunts, nieces and nephews. Frank graduated from Penn State University and worked for IBM for 33 years, retiring in 2000. After retirement, he spent most of his time golfing where he was able to renew many old friendships from his working days. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary's Church, Apalachin on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In hopes of finding a cure for lung cancer, Frank chose to donate his remains to Upstate Medical.
