Obituary of Gordon Loomis

Gordon C. Loomis of Maine Gordon C. Loomis, age 90, of Maine, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn; granddaughter, RayLee (Mills) Empet; and a grandson, Paul Mills. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Creig) Mills, Florida, Jean (Marshall) Gage, Maine, a granddaughter, Ann Marie (Rusty) Vergason, Newark Valley; three grandsons, Creig (Marcy) Mills, Florida, Scott (Donna) Mills, Endwell, Douglas Mills, Binghamton. Gordon was also a great grandfather and a great great-grandfather. He was a member of the Maine Federated Church. He operated the family farm for many years and was a former employee of the Town of Maine Highway Dept. and Endicott Forging. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Bee Keepers and Maple Syrup Associations. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the Vestal Nursing Center (Whispering Pines) and the Lourdes Seton 1 nursing staff and doctors. Funeral services for Gordon will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at 12 noon at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main Street, Endicott with the Rev. Sprite Johnson, Pastor of the Federated Church of Maine officiating. Burial will follow in the Maine Cemetery. The family will receive their friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. till the time of service.
