Obituary of Rocco Quaranta

Rocco Quaranta, Jr Rocco Quaranta, Jr., 77, of Apalachin, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday August 29, 2014 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Marietta Quaranta, Sr.; his brothers, Nick, Angelo, Tony Quaranta; sisters, Rose Ligouri, and Laura Piccotti. Rocco is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Glenda; his children, Steven, Sandra (Andrew) Doehring, Thomas (Shannon), and Paula; three granddaughters, Sara, Gretchen, and Zalya; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Peter Fanelli; sister-in-law, Connie Quaranta; and many nieces and nephews. Rocco was a member of Sheet Metal Local #112, and worked for J&J Sheet Metal. He was a longtime member and past officer of Endicott Sons of Italy Lodge #443. Rocco enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday September 4, 2014 at 2PM at Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Margaret Mary's Church, 1110 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at St. Margaret Mary's Church Thursday from 12:30PM until service time at 2PM. Duca Degli Abbruzzi Lodge #443 will conduct a prayer service at the Church Thursday at 1:45PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Apalachin Fire Department/EMS, P.O. Box 572, Apalachin, NY 13732-0572.
