Obituary of Timothy R. Hayes

On the 24th of September, Timothy R. Hayes, went to join his Lord after almost a year of struggle. He was 79 years old. Tim is predeceased by his parents, Timothy J. Hayes and Florence (Mony) Hayes. He is also predeceased by his dearly loved brother, Chuck and his wife, Arlene. Also, his sister, Florence, and her husband, Raymond Willis. He has one living sister, Barbara Shonyo. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; his daughters, Lisa Hayes Kane (Mathew Kane, MD); Polly Hayes (Joy Lesnick); two stepchildren, Stephen (Liz) Treiber, Julie Treiber (Tracy Nash); three beautiful grandchildren, Mica, Alex and Owen Kane, (our special joys through the years) and two special step-grandchildren, Brittany and Brianna Cook and their mom, Ann. He has many terrific nephews, nieces and grand nephews and nieces that had a special place in his heart. Tim was an employee of IBM Corporation for 33 years when he retired. He was well respected by his superiors and everyone who worked with him and for him. He made many wonderful contributions to IBM while he was an employee. When he retired, he worked many years for Meals on Wheels and was the president of the Board of Directors for three years. He has always belonged to the ELKS Club for many years. He loved to play tennis, work on cars, cross country ski and play the slot machines. He will be so very badly missed by all who knew him and most especially by his family. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to Syracuse University to set up a scholarship fund in memory of Timothy R.
