Obituary of Gwendolyn B. Evans

Gwendolyn B. Evans Gwendolyn B. Evans, 92, of Vestal, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014, at Willow Point Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Snowden, in 1991. She is survived by three children, Craig (Bonnie) Evans, Roanoke, VA, Gail (James) Hendershot, Newark, OH, and David (Penny) Evans, Apalachin; seven grandchildren, Molly (Wes) Blanchard, Megan (Steve) Friend, Tegan, Dylan, and Bryan Hendershot, Stephanie (Sean) Reardon, and Alexandra Reynolds; and four great-grandchildren, Ian and Carson Blanchard, and Ross and Gabriella Friend. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Gwen was a member of the Park Terrace Methodist Church and a member of the Tuesday morning Quilters Guild. She was the best Mom and friend you could ask for, and her house was always open to friends near and far. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, November 2, at 2:00 at Park Terrace United Methodist Church, Glann Road, Apalachin. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Park Terrace Methodist Church Memorial Fund. The family wishes to pay special thanks to Dr. Ahmad, the staff members at Willow Point Nursing Home and Good Shepherd Fairview Home who cared for Gwen over the past five years, and a sincere thank you to her many friends for their love and support. You are all truly a blessing to our family.
